A discussion in one of my yahoo groups brought up special holidays in September. I’m sure if we all took a moment and stopped we could think of the more "traditional" holidays that September holds, but I wanted to think of something different. That sent me to Google and what I found was that September is Read A New Book Month.

Sandi: I'd probably take into account that person's interests, beliefs, and values. Also, I'd ask myself: What are his/her tastes in other media, such as TV and movies? Which websites does s/he visit often? Which current issues interest this person?
Which crowd does s/he run with? Which books are they into?
I'd then give this info to a trusted bookseller or librarian, and ask for recommended titles, authors, and genres.
I wonder whether such services already exist on the Web. If someone knows of any, please share this info with us.
